TASK: Project 2 – Internal and External Communications Strategy (40%): Learning Outcomes: This project requires you to demonstrate effective communication skills when communicating on behalf of an organisation. You will need to apply skills in working with participants. This assessment reflects the following unit-learning outcomes:  Learning outcome 1: Demonstrate the ability to write clearly and concisely through a range of communication modes that are relevant to the workplace and academic environment  Learning outcome 2: Demonstrate the ability to think critically and creatively.  Learning outcome 3: Demonstrate an understanding of the appropriate terms in a communication/workplace setting. Task Requirements: The organisation that you work for has taken an interest in the topic you investigated in Project 1 – Annotated Bibliography. Your manager has asked you to develop an internal and external communication strategy to promote the key findings of the topic you investigated. Therefore, you are required to develop a plan and write the content to promote your topic; firstly, within the organisation and secondly, to the broader public arena. You will need to complete the following: 1. A situation analysis. 2. Set goals and objectives for the project. 3. Compile the content investigation you completed in project 1. 4. Decide on your target audience and key messages. 5. Decide on the communication channels, for example newsletters, print media, email, social media, and radio. 6. You will need to produce at least two communication documents for your internal strategy and at least two communication documents for your external strategy. For example, Internal: Newsletter for the organisation and direct email to the employees. External: Media release and Brief for an Advertising campaign, or a web page. You are able to produce additional communication documents; however, the minimum is two for each strategy. b. Include a memo to the managing director of the company providing an overview of this strategy. Project Format: The structure of the report should include the following: Title Page (not included in word count)  Title of the topic and student names and numbers Contents Page  A list of the contents of the report Situation Analysis/Introduction  You need to ‘Set the scene’ – the context  Describe the ‘Situation’ – identify the threats and opportunities for the organisation. This will focus on the target audience/publics and other factors that may affect the organisation  Inform the organisational leaders why the strategy is needed.
